WALNUT MOVEMENT
Walnut Movement is a meditation on the climate crisis and (post)human relations to nature – an imagining of a future where humans and nature may meet in play, ethics, and reciprocity.
The installation consists of multimedia sculptures that incorporate interactive touch and sound technology. The sculptures are constructed from walnut-wood panels, raised as body-like figures on ceramic bases. They combine photo-printed textiles, cast-metal objects, and organic materials such as moss, bones, fur, and walnut shells. The ceramics carry intricate details that recall organic patterns – roots, worms, facial features, and porous structures – while the textiles depict fragments of forest landscapes: bare trees, moss, and running water.
