My installation Re-entering the Fictional, work on the thematic of our current socio political and environmental circumstances and the comfort of finding refuge in a  fictional and alternate reality. As the act of craft and creativity allows regaining individual power in a seeminlgy distraught world. The chosen material of the installation being already fallen logs that are re-vived, come from underlying pressure and sustainabile problem solving skills, addressing critical environmental thinking and a sense of urgency.

The series so far consists of eight wooden sculptures painted with linseed oil, with accompanying elements. Wood craftsmanship, fallen logs and carvings are key elements in the project. I draw inspiration from the exploration of the beaver's way of life and character, it constitutes an allegorical figure for my passion in working with wood. In living in a post human frenzy the alignment of animal as symbolic tool for earthly balance is re-ignified through site research, concept and material. Through craft techniques and concepts rooted in Nordic ecologies, the sculptures are reminiscent of the traditional woodcraft's organic approach to handling the material. One of the central wooden sculptures in the exhibition incorporates a film with clips from the forest landscape in Harpefoss, Norway, combined with music composed by the duo Helga Myhr (harding fiddle) and Tanja Orning (cello). The experimental soundtrack resonates with the mysteryof nature - the mountains, the rain, the bustle of life. The sculpture Mother contains a reindeer bone frame with the word mother carved into it and the photo of a beaver. Another sculpture stands on a felted woollen blanket and has a stone from Harpefoss incorporated into the cavity.
